There are many things that it could be - most likely culprits ..
throttle body needs cleaning
ICV needs cleaning or replacing ..usually cleaning
vac leak somewhere
If you can do the work yourself, read the 700/900 FAQ's for this type problem. Different cars, yes - but the same basic B230 motor - lots of same symptoms for both regarding this type issue.
