The price to get in caught me off gaurd, but considering whats going to be there and to the fact that it is being hosted at the Museum I guess $25 is not that bad. The only other event I've been too of similar size to this one is the Canadian Volvo CLub annual. Which has a covercharge too, but is on the hosts farm. Hi Everyone,%0D%0A%0D%0AThe newly reformed Sacramento Chapter of the VCOA will be holding its second event of the year at the Towe Auto Museum in Sacramento:%0D%0A%0D%0ASunday, July 20, 2008%0D%0A10:00A - 12:00 noon (or later if you would like to stay for lunch)%0D%0A%0D%0ATowe Auto Museum%0D%0A2200 Front Street%0D%0ASacramento, CA 95818%0D%0Ahttp://www.toweautomuseum.org/%0D%0A%0D%0AHere is the copy and paste from the event flyer:%0D%0AWe will be upfront about this: there are no Volvos on display at the Museum, other than the ones that members will be driving to this event. But if you want to shore up your knowledge of automotive history and learn about the technological ancestors of your Volvo, this is the event for you. The Museum is biased towards early Ford products (Model T & Model A), but since Ford owns Volvo, I guess that's the tie-in, if you need one. Seriously, if you want to learn about automotive history, this is the best place in the Sacramento Valley to do so.%0D%0A%0D%0AWe will have a reserved parking area outside the museum for our members, where "Volvo" will definitely be spoken. After the museum tour, which should take about 90 min., attendees can visit the Museum's gift shop and/or gather outside in our reserved area and meet fellow Volvo enthusiasts. Around Noon, we will adjourn to a nearby restaurant for lunch. Lunch is optional and is a separate cost from the museum visit-- restaurant choice will be by popular vote after the tour, please bring your location suggestions, we'll bring ours.%0D%0A%0D%0AWe will be receiving a special discounted admission rate, the maximum charge is $5/person. A local VCOA event, cheap (cheaper than going to the movies!), and it won't take a whole day. What more could you ask for?%0D%0A%0D%0AImportant note: So that the Museum may have enough docents on hand for our tour, you must RSVP by Sunday, July 13, 2008 to: Jon Manji or Jeff Molander. I have three 240 wagons in various states of repair/disrepair that I'd have to sell everything because I am disabled and my insurance has run out and Social Security has denied me benefits again for the third time despite the fact that my case is being handled by the largest national law firm in such matters. Two are in storage in PA and one is here with me in NY along with a B28 V6 engine and AW71 transmission with only 40k on it. Also a lot of other parts. If Ikea changes their mind and lets you sell stuff in their parking lot, heck I bet the drug dealers from Philly sell a lot in their parking lot, then please let me know. I'd also appreciate it if bricksters would contact me about any upcoming swap meets in the NY, NJ, PA, CT area where I could sell this stuff. They are only selling 500 tickets, and each ticket costs $100. The cool part is all proceeds go to the LLS. The C30 is being provided by Lehman Volvo.%0D%0ATO PURCHASE YOUR TICKET call the LLS in South Central PA at 717-652-6520. The car is being raffled on June 7th. http://www.brickboard.com/GATHERINGS/volvo/1271641/win_volvo_c30_great_cause.html?rss=1 Wed, 16 Apr 2008 13:42 GMT Volvos@Ikea-Philadelphia, PA 4/6/08 -posted by- SL8Brick Where:%0D%0AIkea%0D%0A2206 S. They've offered us use of an ample section of parking lot, only ~50yrds from the main entrance. This is a "Volvo only" event...so clean up that ride, bring along the spouse for a day of shopping and let your kids jump in the ballpit. It should all make for some 'Swedish heritage' FUN.%0D%0A%0D%0A%0D%0A-SL8Brick http://www.brickboard.com/GATHERINGS/volvo/1259588/volvosikeaphiladelphia_pa_4608.html?rss=1 Tue, 19 Feb 2008 01:36 GMT Volvos@Ikea-Philadelphia, PA 4/6/08 -posted by- SL8Brick Thanx for coming out, MTerry!
