I had a great time at the last event despite the cool/damp weather.%0D%0AMy '88 244GL might not make it this time. I have her up on jack stands replacing the complete exhaust and new poly bushings, both front and rear.%0D%0AI have been working on her for 3 days now and have probably 2 to go.%0D%0AMy father and I are going to be coming in his black '87 744Ti. I just have to get her cleaned up!%0D%0A%0D%0ABTW: My car was the one pic'd on turbobricks from the event with the clean engine and virgo rims. They were two separate shots.

this too is a trip on my 'to do' list. Interesting it was an 85 245.. makes me want to pull my 85 240 and drive this NOW... I would actually trust my 240 better than the 850 or v70 on a trip of this nature..

I shall be there with either my 850 or v70. The price to get in caught me off gaurd, but considering whats going to be there and to the fact that it is being hosted at the Museum I guess $25 is not that bad. The only other event I've been too of similar size to this one is the Canadian Volvo CLub annual. Which has a covercharge too, but is on the hosts farm. Irv is going to be there I have been wanting to catch a glmipse of his car for years. So I'll be making the 119 mile drive from Michigan City,IN..

I'd attend if I could sell my Volvos and their parts. I have three 240 wagons in various states of repair/disrepair that I'd have to sell everything because I am disabled and my insurance has run out and Social Security has denied me benefits again for the third time despite the fact that my case is being handled by the largest national law firm in such matters. Two are in storage in PA and one is here with me in NY along with a B28 V6 engine and AW71 transmission with only 40k on it. Also a lot of other parts. If Ikea changes their mind and lets you sell stuff in their parking lot, heck I bet the drug dealers from Philly sell a lot in their parking lot, then please let me know. I'd also appreciate it if bricksters would contact me about any upcoming swap meets in the NY, NJ, PA, CT area where I could sell this stuff. I am also open to any inquires about these items at 718.939.2540. Thanks and good luck.

Sorry to read about your misfortune, ellenbrick. Unfortunately, we're kind of at Ikea's mercy on the rules. Its really a stand-up thing that they've done by permitting us to have these meets and since they're allowing us to gather there, we strictly abide by their rules. But if nothing else, you might get some good contacts for the future sale of your cars/parts if you choose to attend.

Howdy all,%0D%0A%0D%0AWe are back in Jacksonville. The last day on the road we covered the distance from northwest Kansas to east Texas, including a three hour stop in Lindsborg.%0D%0A%0D%0ANow all I have to do is unpack the car.%0D%0A%0D%0AThe 245 will forever more be know as "the mule" held up well. Nothing actually broke, save throwing one of the alternator belts. I picked up a rock from a gravel road in the left rear parking brake drum in Montana. It would go hundreds of miles never making a sound and then put up a horrible racket for a few dozen miles. Just an update if you're not watching his blog...%0D%0A%0D%0AShannon and Tyler came back through Calgary Monday. They loaded the "mule" up with a transmission and a rear end from my collection of used parts. They are, once again, on their way. They left Calgary early Tuesday morning with hopes of crossing into North Dakota before the end of the day. Provided the mule had held up under the extra weight, I suspect they'll be into South Dakota by now...%0D%0A%0D%0ADale

Best to check if the Going to the Sun road is open yet. We came through that way last weekend and took Highway#2 around Glacier park. There was quite a bit of snow above 5000 ft and I suspect the Logan Pass may have been closed. %0D%0A%0D%0AWhatever way you go, the Volvo will be gasping as Logan Pass climbs to 6600 ft. Highway 2 climbs to just under 6000 ft and then highway 89 north of Browning climbs to 6200 ft. Our 965 was working mighty hard at times. Mind you, force-feeding makes a difference at those altitudes.%0D%0A%0D%0ALook forward to seeing you!!%0D%0A%0D%0A

Volvo245gti's concerns about your performance (actually the car) on the passes in Montana at or above 6,000 feet should cause you no great concern. If you make it more than 60 miles north of Durango, the car has passed the test!%0D%0A%0D%0AThe entire State of Colorado west of Denver is somewhere around, or over, 6000 feet and the bulk of the "Passes" that you will be climbing north of Durango (US Hwy 550?) are over 10,000 feet (Red Mountain Pass = 11,075 feet) At 6,000 feet your car will feel like it is virtually "Gulping Air"!%0D%0A%0D%0ALooking forward to keeping track of you via the internet until the Midsommar event! Not a gathering I know, but I wanted to pass along that the Lukemia and Lymphoma Society are having a Volvo C30 raffle. They are only selling 500 tickets, and each ticket costs $100.
