You could try a 240 check valve, I think that might work but not positive. Since about 1995 newer cars have the check valve builtin with the pump.

If you have the original pump and a few miles on her, you might want to spring for a new pump as it is easy to do on your car. Better than cutting a gas line and putting in a part that was made for a newer 240/740/940.
