Interstate makes real good batteries. It's not the original Volvo battery that came when the car was new. Sounds like the Interstate battery is at least seven years old if that's how long you've had the car. I have the same model and year and I've never replaced the battery, but I might as a precaution. When I do I'll definitely consider the Interstate if the Volvo battery is cost prohibitive.
