What is a doghouse stabilizer?

My '96 855R had a rear sway bar - it had different ends, one was at a right angle to the bar.

It made the suspension really stiff - it thumped when I drove over the shadow of a telephone pole!

Did you know that under severe, quick conering, the 850's rear wheels steered?
