Sounds like rear brakes to me too.

I suspect that the rear rotors might be slightly warped and you only feel it when there is a heavy load/strain on the car. Next time it happens see if you can determine if the vibration is mainly felt through the brake pedal or steering wheel. If through the brake pedal it is the rear brakes. Steering wheel is the front.
