I thought that it might be helpful to someone else that I post a follow-up to my own message from back in July. Because I own a small fleet of V70's, at this point,I took the one with the trans shift issue off the road for a couple of months and had my daughter drive another. When I finally got around to following up on the trans shift issue I pulled up codes and found none relating to the flashing shift arrow. According to the owner's manual, the flashing arrow indicates a gear box problem, but the trans fluid was at level and did not appear discolored of have any indication of a burnt smell.Taking a flyer, I secured a trans computer from a local u-pick-it yard for about $30 ---problem solved! There was no connection to the speedometer/ABS module, I am currently working on that one---attempting to solder a capacitor ,that had dislodged itself, back into the board. wish me luck
