AC, Heater blower 850 1996

Hi

I am having a problem with my heater, AC blower motor. Sometimes the blower will work and other times the blower does not work. This problem seems to come and go. It feels like cold air is coming from the vents but the motor does not go on.

If I turn the car off and start it again sometimes the blower motor comes on and other times it does not. Also some times when the car is started the AC and REC lights flash but I can not read any "codes". Anyone experiance anything like this?

Does anyone know if there are software programs that will read the climate control computers and give me a starting point to fix my car?

TIA

Some people have experienced corroded brushes, commutators or bearings on the fan motor, or loose connections - evidently when water gets in from the outide air intake. Some water can collect even if the evaporator drain (under the car in the middle) is clear. I have "resurrected" my original motor a couple of times in the last 3 years or so by taking it out and cleaning everything up (on a 95-850). See Bay13 "passenger dash access" to find out how. In my case there were no other symptoms beside the motor not running and I have a manual climate control.

I have a '95 wagon with the same problem. I checked my codes, and got a passenger side temp sensor fan problem. That is the little hole above the grabe handle. In my case, I vacuumed the hole, and all was well. I still have the problem with the blower cutting in and out. I think it might be the "resistor pack" which in an ACC car is called something else, but I can't remember what it was called.

Good luck, and if you figure it out, please let me know.
