Intermittent electrical fault S70 1999

Hi All!
My speedometer, odometer, and momentary mpg calculation will die, the 'brake' and 'ABS' lights come on, my tranny feels like its in winter mode, then my tranny arrow flashes. This can go on for a minute or an hour or who knows. It then reverts back to normal for a minute or an hour or a day. Hitting bumps doesn't seem to change the situation. When the power goes, the speedo and the odo take a few seconds to die as if condensors are discharging, and when the power comes back on, they lag a few seconds in returning to normal function.Any ideas?
Thank you

Most likely your ABS Control Unit has failed. Does the odometer display "----" when you have the problem?
Reading the ABS codes costs about $125.00 at the dealer and about 95% of the time, the diagnosis is a defective ABS Control Unit.

Here's information I have on this subject.
