day time running lights V70-XC70

I have an XC70. When the day time head lights are on my dashboard lights are also on. The dealer told me that this is normal. For any others with an XC are your dashboard lights also on?

I have an 850 turbo with day time running lights and in this position the head lights are on but not the dashboard. When I change the position to the night time the dashboard lights come on and the head lights get more intensity.

This seems like a bad design on the xc 70 as their is no difference in the daytime and night lights.

Thanks

The reason why I will never buy a new Volvo! Only the dealer may change the options on the computer, for a small $100 fee. If a car has a modern computer, why can't we "plug in" and make these simple changes? Baa Humbug.

I believe there are several programmable options for how the DTRL's work. You can even turn them off completely if you want, but the dealer has to do this by way of a download to your car...'04's and '05's are this way. Inquire at your dealer...sorry but they're the only ones who can do this for you with your car.
