HOw to pull a code V70-XC70

I have been searching the forums about a recent problem with my automatic transmission (up arrow) light flashing, and someone said you can pull a code from the automatic gearbox. How do you do this? What kind of equipment do you need to pull a code? I'm trying to avoid the dealer...and their overcharging :)

Go to Autozone or Pepboys and they will do it for you free...otherwise, you'll have to invest in a code reader. The Equus Innova is the one I bought...cost about $85 shipped...from eBay. However, what you're describing is a PNP Switch going out, or gone out. Do a search for it as well as look on Bay13 over at www.volvospeed.com for the fix. Part isn't that expensive but a bit of a pain to fix.
