No Horn 850

My horn in my 850 is no longer working. It was intermittently working when pressing in certain areas of the horn area, but now does not work at all. Fuse/replay are fine, horns work when direct wired.

Read previous posts and spoke with Jeff Caplan about his Horn repair kit, but that seems to be only a fix if horn is constantly ON. My dealer tells me steering wheel needs to be replaced as the horn unit is molded into the wheel. Read previous posts, but next steps are not clear. TIA.

disconnect the battery, remove the air bag, and fix your horn. Remember, do not reconnect the battery until the air bag is back in place, or the dash light will come on and only the dealer can turn it off.
Replace the steering wheel? Too bad dealers no longer fix parts.

You'll have to remove the airbag and inspect the contacts and those plastic pieces that Jeff sells. Of course the dealer wants to replace the entire steering wheel $$$$ . There's a couple of Torx screws on the backside of the steering wheel to release the airbag so you can look behind it. I'm betting the repair kit will fix it.
