Check engine light issue-ECM DTC A1 set S40-V40 2002

Check engine light comes on without normal conditions of extreme cold temp. or long engine idle time. Local mechanic reset, but light returned very soon. Can anyone tell why the light returns without normal conditions causing it?

You will have to get the fault codes read out by Volvo, or someone with an OBDII reader.
