Secondary air system - FIXED! 850 1996

Back in Sept. I posted a question bemoaning the fact that my mechanic was having a heck of a time fixing my check engine light code P0410 - secondary air injection system fault. He had cleaned the system several times, then finally replaced the pump, and then the valve. The light always came on again after several days to a week or so. The reply from "jB" (copied below) suggested replacing the small controller. I followed his advice - got the part with no prob from Nick at FCPGroton (thanks) - and after a 5-minute replacement job (not even a screwdriver needed) the light has been off for over two months now. Fixed!

Just wanted to say thanks and post a follow-up for future browsers.

tHERE IS A SMALL "CONTROLLER" LOCATED ON THE INSIDE OF THE RADIATOR SHROUD with a purple and white vacuum line running to it plus an electrical connection. This regulates this dumb air injection system that is a general PIT butt. That controller may be bad if everything checks out OK. FCPGroton sells them but you have to email Nick for the part number as it isn't displayed on the site. The pump also has a relay. I assume that is ok.
