Wagon - rear light lenses 850 1996

Bought a '96 850 turbo wagon three years ago, 68K. Rear light lenses were crazed and got rapidly worse in the Florida sun. Replaced them with a set I bought off ebay, they are now worse than the originals! My wifes '98 V70 lenses are still excellent, with no sign of going the same way as those on my car. I presume that Volvo changed the manufacturer between '96 and '98.
Looking on various sites the least expensive replacement lenses (the V70 type, which will fit my '96) are about $350, does anyone know of a source that has a better price?

Appreciate any help,
The Bear

    Hi,
McGuires (I think I spelled the name correctly) makes an excellent polish for plastic lenses. I've used on my 94 twice in the last year and they still look almost as good as new.

I have a set I took off the 94 855T i bought last month and replaced with a 97 set. The 94s are in nice shape after just one quick polishing session, minor haze at most that will come out completely with a bit more polishing but they have a nice gloss as it is. They don't have the white lenses, they have the amber ones but I'll let you have them for $50 shipped if you want them. Email me if you do.

Good luck otherwise and think about putting some protectant on what you get in any case. Klasse polymer keeps a high gloss on all my lenses.

Not everyone lives in Fla or the desert Southwest. Us Northerners don't have thee fading lamp problem, so look on Ebay and check out where they live. Should be much cheaper than new.
Then look for some plastic cleaner/spray that contains UV protection, it does exist.

True...and there are some plastic polishing compounds that restore the hazed look as well, which might be well worth your efforts.
