air line, where does the other end go? S70 1998

Can someone tell me where the other end goes? You would think that after cleaning the throttle body etc. and putting everything back together the line would reach to where it belongs. It starts at the air filter box. Whatever it is, it is supposed to be sucking clean air. I have been running like this for 6 months, so it's mostly a curiosity. Would someone look under the hood of their S70 for me?

thanks,

Hello, Depending on which vacuum line it is it can go to the back and above the throttlebody or under the flap above the radiator to the solonoid. That solonoid may have the rubber elbow still on it if the plastic line pulled out.

Don't remember off hand where it goes, but maybe you can decipher it from the vacuum hose routing label on the hood. Should be a black and white label about 3x3" near the pass side hood hinge. Easier to see if you stand the hood straight up. Good luck.

Hard to know if it is purple in the picture, but if it is, it runs down to the air pump valve (SAS) right behind the engine, sort of sticking up and looking like a brass mushroom. This is the vacuum to know temp of air from the airbox so it will know if it should turn on the initial air pump, if I'm correct. Good luck and please let me know where the line goes.
