SAS Pump V70-XC70 1998

My CEL has been on for the past 5k and it's the SAS pump. Well, it's p0410 and while I was under it two weeks ago water was seeping from the pump's cracks. I've heard of guys drilling a small hole in the case to let the pump drain of water. I'm about one week away from doing that. Chances are the water has already gotten to the motor but why not? I'm guessing I'll suck some dirty air in but perhaps a breather/filter will work. I was wondering if anyone has done that and it worked. If it doesn't, then I'll be out a pump that has a hole in the case.

    Understand that .............. V70-XC70 1998

drilling a hole at the bottom of the air pump is a preventative measure, NOT A FIX to your problem.

The problem is a failed SAS valve, in the open position, that allows combustion condensation to accumulate at the pump.

Thus drilling a hole in the air pump buys you time until you fix the problem, or the pump motor will seize from corrosion/rust. If this happens it will cost you $$$.
