Tire Size for S70 2.0T, Yr 2000 S70 2000

I used Goodyear Eagle F1s for the first time last year and they were simply excellent in both wet and dry. They are now due for replacement.

When I first purchased these tyres by chance last year, the retailer offered me 205/60R15 which I had accepted (the std spec for this model is 195/60R15). The tyre was a GS-D2 model.

The latest models, GS-D3 do not come in any of these specs, 195/60R15 or 205/60R15. The nearest "suitable" size is 195/55R15.

Can anyone here comment/share their experience please before I dive and make the purchase? Thanks.

The 195/55 will have a shorter sidewall than the 205/60 resulting in a slightly stiffer ride. Also, the steering responsiveness will be quicker.

Actually...I run 195 65 15, which are the size for awd cars, even though mine is front drive. I would not go 195 55. The load rating gets lower as you reduce size...generally. The speed can be fixed....there are four setting in the computer on the car for different tire sizes.

Of the sizes you mentioned...I'd go 205 60.

"The speed can be fixed....there are four setting in the computer on the car for different tire sizes."

Is that true Rick? How do you access the settings? Dealer VADIS only?

And what are the 4 tire sizes accepted?

(Enquiring minds want to know.)
