friend has said car as has had 5+ techs check it out and none ever be able to find what is rattling in the glove box. they have tried tape on the latch and that didn't work. only time it doesn't rattle is when it is open. they say its the contents of the box that cause it to rattle, yet even empty it does this when closed.


anyone know of any tricks to find or fix this issue?

    I have a 01 S80 and when i drive over rough roads i can see the glove box vibrate like a rabbit ..i think its just poor design on the latch unit..the rubber pods are there to create a tight seal, but i think the catch on the unit is not grabing the U hook properly..i will have time next week to tear my down n see if i can come up with a fix....

      I had the same issue. I went to Home Depot and bought a set of plastic cabinet pads. You know the little square pads that go in the corner of a cabinet door to muffle the sound when the door closes. I placed one on each side of the opening (can't be seen when box is shut) and it solved the rattle. Saved me from going insane!
