Leaking Sunroof, a fix.

Some of us SVC70 drivers get wet when it is raining and the car is not moving. It is not because the drains are clogged, but they might be. It is because the weather stripping around the glass is no longer sealed. Water seeps from the glass portion of the sun roof, under the black weather stripping, and back out again to fall in your lap or on the cloth shade. Not a LOT of water, just a drop or two.
I was planning to remove my SR last fall but it got too cold, too fast, so I just squeezed some 3M sealant (black) between the glass and the weather strip. It still leaks! I noticed rust around the bottom of the SR and knew it was going to be an all day job. Then MIJ posted with his leaky SR problem and I thought you might like to see this site:

A two day fix. The SR weather stripping can be bought at FCPGroton for less than $50. Try to find windshield sealant/adhesive to put it back on.
Lots of luck,
Klaus

Yep...the stuff that Volvo sells to seal the weather stripping is $24 for a tube. So I called my windshield installer (never had a leaky windshield from these guys, ever and they've done 3 for me in the past) and they recommended Black Super Weatherstripping Adhesive #82 (part #81850) made by Permatex, which I bought from Autozone for $3.99 a tube. I plan on "patching" the area where the stripping has lifted away from the glass until things warm up and dry out so I can buy fcpgroton's weatherstripping (actually Volvo OEM...dealer price is over $100) piece and replace the whole thing after getting all the rust off of the metal sunroof frame. Thanks to Papa_Kirlo for taking the pictures and explaining things to me (the link you provided) and thanks to you Klaus for posting this and increasing everyone's awareness to this issue.
