850 instrument cluster - will a 97 cluster work in a 93?

Will a 97 850 instrument cluster (digital mileage) work in a 93 850? I have a failed odometer in my 93 850 (probably the usual plastic gear failure). At this point I have a donor car with another 93 cluster, but I noticed a cheap 97 cluster on ebay and wondered if it would work??

Any thoughts?

    Won't work because the computer for them are different. Just get the gear that you need. Bay13 has the instructions as I assume you already know. Many vendors for the gear, including IPD.
