brake pads and brake fluid change S60 2003

i plan to bring my volvo s60 to an independent mechanic who has worked only on the s70 and older (and boxy) volvos for brake pads (all 4 will be changed to mintex pads) and brake fluid change. is the ease or difficulty level the same? will he need some kind of special tool to work on the s60? am just nervous he may break something. previously all maintenance work has been with the dealer.

Why did you pick him? S60 2003

If I may ask, why did you pick him if he acknowledges so little experience with your car. That would worry me -- what's compelling you to use him instead of some other?

I'm not saying that he can't work on your car (since he has experience with the other models), but only ... if you have some "gut feeling" that he shouldn't work on your car, why aren't you following your gut?

Sometimes guts are smarter!

Relax, there is not enough difference on the brakes to make any difference. If he is competent enough to work on the S70 brakes then he should be competent enough to handle your S60.
Why Mintex instead of factory pads. Have the factory pads that the dealer uses been giving you that bad of service?

Mark

thanks for the response. actually i only have 30K kilometers on the car but all the brake dust is tiring me out requiring me to clean the wheels twice a week. i read on the board that mintex pads will give me less dust without sacrificing safety, hopefully that's true.
