Hi, I just bought a 98 V70 turbo. I was wondering because I hear conflicting stuff, is there a flame trap for this or not? I always had a 1990 740 with a flame trap, do the v70s?

I don't think the turbo models have a flame trap, only the na models but I am certainly no expert.

The turbo has the holder but no FT element inside. I believe the FT was d/c'd in all engines including N/A starting in 97

A D&C is a bit radical for flame trap removal, don't you think? :-)
