being an owner of Volvos since the mid 70s I have come to appreciate their durability and reliability. Just a few years ago, they were one of the simplest vehicles to work on. They have now become very complex due to all of their "extra frills". Wouldn't it be a pleasure if Volvo made a vehicle reminiscent of the older models, without all of these extra gadgets. (who needs side view mirror defrosters, road temperatures, seat heaters, electric door locks, etc.) Don't get me wrong...these are nice features to have, but i got along without them just fine for years and years, and didn't have the headaches of having to fix things that had nothing to do with mechanics of the vehicle. Do you think Volvo could make money by targeting a different group of consumers by marketing a basic rendition of these new AWD models, without the frills, for less $$$? Just looking for others opinions and feedback. (I lay in bed and dream about owning an AWD basic model, with crank-down windows, no air conditioning, greasable door hinges, CLOTH SEATS, etc.) Bring back my 140 or 240 model in an AWD. I know...I know...the times they are a changin'.
