855 Door Weld

Hello Everyone,

Well my favorite car of all time has developed the creek/snaping sound in the drivers door. This must mean the famous bad door hinge weld. This being my tenth year with this car I will soon being putting into my teenage sons driving pool. Lord knows what my honey will look like in a few years. I will maitain the car as always, but cosmetic repairs will take a back seat.

My question is will the damn door eventually fall off if I don't get the weld redone? Let me know what you think.

Thanks,

PS next car will be one of two. 06 Honday Oddesey or V70 2.5T I will decide this summer.

Easy fix. Just drill out the spotwelds, tap the holes, and install two bolts. You have to remove the door to do it.

The door will not fall off but if caught by high winds it can get overextended and bent to where it will close improperly or not at all. Beware while traveling through North or South Dakota's badlands.
