Intermittent Stalling 850 1993

Hello; I have a 1993 854 GLT with 110,000 miles. About 4 days ago, while driving, the car suddenly stalled. All lights etc. worked just fine and I was able to start it back up. This happened again yesterday and again this morning.

Any ideas?

    Hi Chad,
    I just posted a message above yours relating to a similar problem, and some info I need to check it out further. I'll get back to you if the fuel pump relay turns out to be the problem.
    By the way, so far I have cleaned the EGR and idle motor, replaced the fuel filter, battery, checked all vacuum hoses, etc. I'm down to either a bad fuel pump relay, or a bad cam position sensor (I hope). Does your stalling occur after the car is warmed up and after a brief stop when you shut it off and restart before it has time to cool down?

      Hey there: So, I took the car in to my Indy--can't risk it dying on the freeway on my drive up to Tahoe/Reno. They are replacing the RPM Sensor, the CAM Positioner and the Fuel System Relay--for a whopping total of $733.00! Sigh. . . I still love my Volvo!

        This happened on mine thought it was fuel pump/relay, turned out to be cam sensor.

      The stalling occurs after the car is warmed up and without turning it off and restarting it. . . This morning it happened on the way to work. My battery is less than one year old. . .

        Okay,
        Could still be the same problem as mine, but there could also be a variety of other causes. If you want to check out a great string about this problem
        Google "Matthew's Volvo Site" and search "850 stall". It will give you a lot more insight.
