Help, where do I find a 1994 Service Light Reset Module? 850 1994

Bay 13 calls it "A" and "B" "diagnostic connectors. Anyway, here's the dumb thing I did: in replacing the headlight bulbs, I slid the diagnostic module out of it's clip and set it aside to have more room for my chubby fingers. It was raining, my hands were still too fat but after much cursing, I finally got the bulbs seated in the headlights. I quickly shut the hood, got out of the rain and drove away. After dinner a few hours later, the car started making a never before heard, gawd awful moaning sound. It was still raining and only a few blocks to home so I winced and put up with the moaning and clattering. In the carport, I opened the hood...you guessed it...the diagnostic module had fallen down to become wedged against the belt wheel on the alternator rubbing and melting away some of the plastic on the "A" side of the module, exposing, but not destroying 3 of the wiring contacts on that side. The plastic lid on the "A" side was also lost. The chubby fingers again required much time to carefully "un-wedge" the unit. Using electrical (and some gaffers) tape I "jerry-rigged" a covering for the unit and got it back in it's clip. Yes, everything still works!. .but with my luck, it ain't gonna for long. I went on line to try and find the part. No luck. You guys got any ideas? Thanks for even readin' this missive.

So, do you need to lid for Box A or the entire box...I'm confused.

Well, if there was enough left of the "A" side, I settle for the lid, but I'd better get the plastic housing for the whole module. Or, in your words, the entire box. (By the way, my '94 is a Black Turbo Wagon. 73,500 miles...yes, you read that right. . .Despite it's idiosyncrasies, it's still my baby.)

Hope this helps. 850 1994

I've done some investigating and can't find a whole lot but maybe these things will help. First I'm going to list "official" Volvo terminology that may help you find what you're looking for...then I'll list some part numbers. Hope the information helps.

DLC: Diagnostic Link Connector (also OBD-II is called this but so are the test
boxes...as in DLC-A, DLC-B)
DTM: Diagnostic Test Mode
VDO: Volvo Diagnostic Operation (for dashboards with LED's, where what you do with
the test box has an effect on the dashboard lights)
VST (not Volvo scan tool, but Volvo System Tester)
DTC: Diagnostic Trouble Code

Diagnostic Unit A: part #3545006
Diagnostic Unit B: part #3545007
Bracket that holds Diagnostic units (base case?): part #3523864

Personally I would try going to www.erievovo.com and calling them with the part number to see if they can't help you out. I never found any numbers for the covers...I assume they come with the actual boxes.

Good luck!

That's a lot more information than I could find! Thanks much, "M.I.J."
I'll give it a shot.
