I am Delores and I own a lovely charcoal 850 - super elegant.
Problem... this lamp on my dash keeps coming on and wont extinguish. In the book it says 'fault in the engine electronic system' - looks like three legs all radiating from a central point - y'all know what I mean.
The book also says that there might be a problem in the car's fuel system, AND
yesterday it broke down on a hill... but when I rolled it to some flat ground, it fired up. It also stalls when I jab the throttle. I remember when I used to drive a truck in the army that this could be a blocked fuel filter or crappy pump. My car is 330,000km old. Could the pump or the filter be causing this light to come on?

You need to have the trouble code read. Since the engine does not respond to throttle it could be the mass air flow sensor or a serious vacuum leak. Most fuel pump or fuel flow problems might not trigger a code. Has your car had careful maintenance?

I certainly hope you found some one to give you a lift home. Driving around with the Lambda light on is not a good idea, the engine is trying to tell you something.
Seeing as it is an 8 hour flight from here to Heathrow, I guess I won't be coming to the rescue.
