Which is better model 850 Turbo or 850 GLT Turbo?

Hi 850ers,

I'm thinking of purchasing an 96 850 Turbo Wagon or an 97 850 GLT Turbo Wagon. My initial thought is that the older 2.3L turbo is the better engine than the 2.4L light pressure turbo. The 2.3 produced more power, but is it's as reliable as the 2.4? I'd like to hear opinions on the pros and cons of these two models.

Thanks,
Eric

Both are equally reliable. It depends if you wants gobs of bhp or can live with reasonable acceleration.

The GLT will give a smoother and more powerful push from a stand-still but have much less on the top end. The 2.3 turbo (high pressure) has less from a start but finishes with great boost on the top end. You can also have your ECU modified by IPD or others to give you even more boost for either the LPT or HPT.
