trunk open dash light C70 2001

I can't keep the trunk open light from coming on. It will flicker, then stay on. I bought a new trunk latch but no help. Same proplem. This keeps the convertable top from lowering. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try moving the striker plate forward 1/16inch. There are two T40 screws holding it down.
