Not only has the foam in the seat compressed to the point that it's no longer as comfortable, but the leather cover on the drivers seat has significantly worn out on the section closest to the dash and the drivers door.
At first, I wondered if it was possible to swap the seat covers between driver & pass. Then thought about swapping the seat foam as well. Then I wondered if it would be simplier to just swap the whole seat as they come out rather easily.
Three things I noticed that might be problems. First, the chair air bags would now be on the wrong sides. Perhaps the capability exists to remount them on the opposite side? Does Volvo make a driver & pass seat or just one seat than can be configured as either? Second, the electric controls for the seat would also be on the wrong side. Possibly these could be swapped as well? Third, the lumbar adjustment would be on the opposite side. This one might not be a problem as long as the knob didn't hit the seat belt spool mounted on the B-pillar.
Anyone done this before? Anyone replaced their seat leather? Anyone replaced the seat cushion?
Please advise.
