850 front end alignment 850

Hello All,

Does anyone have the front end alignment specifications for a 1995 850 turbo wagon? I have inner tire wear problems even after replacing the a-arm/ball joints, tie rod ends, and front end alignment by the shop that says they can only adjust the toe-in/out.
There is an after market chamber adjustment kit available at IPD, and I am wondering if this may be the cure. I need to now what the original factory spec's are to see if in fact the camber is out or not.

Thanks in advance,

steve d.

With car empty, these are the specs (fuel tank does not have to be empty):
    Caster: 3.35degrees n 1.0degrees Deviation of 1.0degree is allowed between L/R
Camber: 0degree n 1.0degrees Deviation of 1.0SS (double SS that overlaps...not sure what it means) is allowed L/R
Toe-in (over both wheels) Deviation allowed is 20'n 6'

The "n" in the above has '' over it in each case...not sure what that means either, but your alignment specialist should.

I think your shop was incorrect. On my 95 850 the camber was adjustable in the sense that the bolt holes holding the struts at the lower end are a little oversized. I understand the kit has shims that help you keep everything in place when you tighten the bolts. There is no caster adjustment.

When replacing a strut mount I made a little gauge that allowed me to set the clamp back where it was before.

If you are going to do this yourself, how will you measure the camber?
