Changing Fuel Injectors S70 1999

Anyone know how labor intensive or should I say, how easy it is to change the injectors? I was told by my Volvo mechanic that the error codes he was getting pointed to needing new injectors. He quoted me $350.00 to take care of it. Unfortunately he cleared the codes. They are reputable and have instructed me in the past on repairs that I could do myself.

Thanks,
John

Please remember that dealers are in the business of remove and replace parts, not fixing anything. Why would he reccomend replacing ALL 5 injectors? Are you getting misfires on all 5??? Pull you spark plugs and inspect the tips for wetness or excess carbon buildup, then clean them with a wire brush and put them back in if they look OK.
If the injectors look dirty, have you replaced the gas filter yet? Pour a can of injector cleaner in your tank and drive it some under various road conditions.

I doubt you need to remove the injectors.
    Diagnose the problem properly first.

If that is truely the case, it is not hard to remove the fuel injectors as longas you follow the steps.

But I doubt it, if can runs fine, use the injector cleaner first.

At the age of our cars if you remove the injectors, you probably need to replace the injector 0-rings. There's a lot more to it that just replacement or cleaning. Like others have posted, try running high octane hot for awhile or other methods to clean them naturally. If you still want to change them, then www.volvospeed.com message board has much to say about it and a guy called Slater there sells the 0-rings specific to Volvo injectors. Otherwise, Volvo only sells the 0-rings with new injectors.

I know the problem is most likely resolved from reading the original poster's second post, but just in case, I'm putting this information down.

Good luck and I hope you don't have any more issue.
