My ‘95 850 Sedan w/5-speed trans has taken to shutting off while driving. It happens when the car is up to temperature, highway or in-town driving, but has not stalled from idle. It is a hard cut in power, no sputtering. When I'm sitting on the curb trying to restart, the car will sometimes fire and try to start, but won't idle until about five minutes have passed.
It's become more frequent now as spring has turned into summer, leading me to believe that temperature may be affecting the part that has gone wrong. Actually, that, along with a fault code pointing me to the cam sensor, led me to replace that sensor, but a week later the stalling had returned.
I would expect a hiccup or sputter or two from a fuel delivery problem, but that's what I'm leaning towards since there are no codes and all the ignition parts are fairly new and show no signs of problems.
Any words of wisdom or stories of similar predicament/solutions are appreciated.
Thanks,
Will
