Auto to manual transmission swap 850

I have a 94 850 turbo wagon auto with a tranny problem; won't go into reverse.
It is probably a sticky solenoid or a bad pnp switch but haven't figured it out yet.
I'm thinking about swapping the auto for a 5 speed.
Has anyone done that and how did you do it, what all needed to be done and what did it cost???
This car has a salvage title and about 180K miles so it probably isn't worth the effort but .... I like the car
