timimg belt problem. S80

I have a problem. Just changed timing belt and I feel like I did it right but it idles rough and cuts offs. I hope I`m not a tooth off, no banging noise or anything. Any Ideas? also the etm was updated a month or 2 ago and ran fine when started.
TIA
Lane

One or two teeth off will not cause the valves to hit the piston, but will make it run rough.

Thanks Klaus, after sitting a few hours I tried it again and now S80

it is running smooth as ever. I noticed as I was turning the engine over(plugs out) I smelled a little fuel, don`t know how that could happen. I`m thinking maybe just a little flooded or most likely etm problem, just coincidence. I have the new software upgrade(temporary fix IMO) though.
Oh well she seems fine and mileage is right on too.

Thanks again for your responce Klaus.

Regards,
Lane

Because the fuel injection goes into the intake manifold, smelling fuel should be normal. There will be residual in the plumbing.
But why does it run smooth now? Was one of the plugs not seated properly? Or was there a wet plug and sitting allowed it to dry up enough to fire? Darn, I hate it when there are no difinitive answers.
