replacing front calipers/brake bleeding V70-XC70

Hello All:

This weekend I will be replacing the front calipers on my 2000 V70. I purchased a Motive poer bleeder for this job (and 2 qts. Valvoline synthetic DOT 4) and was wondering if anyone has any experience with this apparatus. Any advice on how much pressure, what sequence to bleed each system etc. Appears to be very straightforward but any advice is always appreciated.

Thanks
Gene

I vote furthest to closest. I believe that the sequence changed when ABS was introduced on the rear wheel drive models in '87. The instructions for non-ABS cars say to bleed the fronts first.

Always bleed the nearest to furthest from the master cylinder in sequence.

On another forum I was advised to bleed farthest to nearest R/R L/R R/F L/F . I believe the Haynes Manual says to do it this way but I saw a post on yet another forum claiming that the Volvo shop manual says to do it your way, ie., LF, RF, LR, RR.

Anyone else want to weigh in on this subject?

      Gene
