Drive Axle/Half Shaft removal 850

1994 Volvo 850 Wagon NA 161K on the clock.

I jacked the front end up today to check
things out and noticed I have a
torn driver's side CV boot (the outer)
It's still full of grease and looks like it
just happened. Turns out I need to do
a ball joint on that side of the car as well.
I have pulled axles out of FWD cars before,
is there anything different that I should
watch out for with this vehicle?
Will transmission fluid be pouring out
when I pull this drive axle out?
I am debating buying a whole new axle vs.
the boot kit.
I also get to replace the driver's side
ball joint/control arm as the ball joint is loose.
Anything special to look out for here?

Thanks in Advance,

Why not try this. It's a stretchy gator from Bailcast/Duraboot. No need to remove the shafts at all. http://www.bailcast.com/bailframe.htm

I've heard good reports too. I bought two last week for mine as they are looking tired and need replacing soon.
