Slow Windshield Wipers 850

My 97 850 sedan's wipers have started running very very slow...sometimes stop working. Any suggestions? Is it the motor? If so, is this an easy repair?

The wiper components are under a plastic cowl you can see when you lift the hood. You need to remove the wiper arms and 4 or 5 screws to get the cowl off. Once off you will be able to inspect everything and replace what is needed. Easier on the 850 than on many other cars. I have had to replace wiper motors on various cars at an age of 10-12 years. Sometimes the linkages fail or run dry of lubricant.
