help me remove center console to get wedding ring please S80 2001

I dropped my wedding ring in the center console (the center piece that holds the e-brake and sits between the driver and passenger). I have been trying to get it out for months and haven't been able to. I have been able to lift it up from the back, but not enough to reach deep enough to get the ring. I have removed 4 screws and the 2 plastic screws on the sides. Have any of you removed one before? Is there some trick to it? Please help.

Can you see the ring? If so, there's a pick-up tool that may help. Go to www.sears.com and search on 41322. That's the part number for a claw-style pick up tool. Most Sears tool departments will probably have this in stock.

I've removed the console before with no problem. From what I can recall, you must remove the coin tray which is the same piece that surrounds the shifter. It snaps in, no screws. Just lift it straight up. You should see two screws once that tray is removed. Remove them. Also remove the side panels on the console that extends under the dash. I believe there are one or two screws there. There should be two more screws on the inside of the large compartment that must be remove. That should do it for you. I went throught these steps to install the adapter for my IPOD. Maybe just removing the coin tray will give you the access to your ring. Good Luck. Denis
