EVAP purge valve location V70-XC70 1998

The volvo dealer shop told me my evap value needed to be replace (because of check engine light indicating gross leak in the system). I have been searching this forum looking for a way to find this valve on the car. I have found on post indicating that it is "It is located above the radiator, left side"; however I don't even know what it looks like. Are there any pictures available that show me what I'm looking for or a better description of where it is?

It's a small valve on the inside of the radiator shroud that has purple and white vac lines running to it plus an electricial connector. Check the two rubber elbows on both ends as they may have rotted from engine heat. Make sure your gas cap is tight also.

Thanks, I found it this morning. The local part store (Autozone) did not have it. I found it online for about $75. Is that a good price for this thing. As for now, I cleaned it up and replace the rubber vacuum lines between it and the filter below it and between the filter and the harder place line that goes to the canister. I had autozone reset the check engine light and we'll see if it throws the code again.

~$75 sounds about what Nick quoted me at Groton's a while back when I thought I needed one. Turns out my problem was the gas cap.

They are the same part exactly. If you need one, figure out which one has cheaper shipping and go from there. I've had great service from both vendors.
Regards, and
Good luck!
