Signs of a bad camshaft position sensor 850 1996

What are the symptoms of a bad camshaft position sensor? Also, if the RPM sensor is bad what kind of problems would it cause? Where are these two items located on the engine? Thanks.

    In my case it was intermittant failure to start. Lots of cranking but no fire. Finally wouldn't start at all. It's located on the end of the rear camm shaft. Relatively easy to replace but some folks have had a problem getting to the plug. Part should cost around $60-70.

      Don't want to go to the dealer. Does IPD carry replacement camshaft position sensors? Thanks.

        Don't think they do, but fcpgroton.com does and probably for the best price.

      where exactly is the camshaft position sensor located? is it below the distributor cap? i will have to remove the airbox filter, correct? thanks!
