white smoke and 215/55/16 ona '95 850 Turbo wagon 850

I've inherited a fairly well maintained 1995 850 Turbo wagon, but it has two issues.

First, if I let it idle (for about 5-10 minutes) lots of white smoke comes out of the exhaust. After driving, it slowly returns to normal. Doesn't seem to affect performce at all.

Second, it needs replacement tires and I have a set of 215/55/16 -- anyone use these (I assume they will fit ok/not too wide)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

White smoke a few minutes after start up and going away after driving just means that there is water in your muffler which is evaporating. White smoke as soon as you start the engine and continuing even after the engine is hot is a problem.
The tires are probably too large. If you have sport suspension, they will rub on the inner fender. If you have regular suspension, they will rub whenever you hit a small bump or turn too hard. See:
