engine tranny mounts 850

What engine/tranny mount on a 97 850 is most likely to cause rough shifting of the auto....if any? Engine seems to have a moderate "kick back" when started. Possibly related?

Thanks guys. The tranny fluid is light cherry red with no smell. Sounds like I need to check the mounts for now.

The torque rod bushing (rear circular mount in front of the driver's side and above the engine) can cause what you describe. It's an easy R&R and not expensive. www.fcpgroton.com sells a poly-bushing you can replace the poorly designed Volvo one with.

Rough shifting would most likely be caused by old burned tranny fluid. Has it been changed in the past 20-30 k miles? Check the engine mount under the crankshaft pulley. They usually don't last much past 100k miles. There's an access panel inside the passenger side front wheel well.
