Heater core replacement/ dash removal?? 850 1995

I plan to have my Indy mechanic replace my heater core in a few weeks and I wanted to verify (so he doesn't charge me for unecessary labor) that you do NOT have to remove the dashboard to do this job.

Thanks and have a nice weekend!

Checked the labour guide and it is a 2.8 hour labour charge. When my parents 850 went in for the heater core the evaporator also had to be replaced, and that required the entire dash to come out-and hence, a much larger labour charge. Have a most splendid weekend :)

Haven't done it myself, but here are pictures and a thread to view other's comments. Doesn't sound like dash has to come out.

    no dash removal 850 1995

No, the dash does not need to be removed to get to the heater core.

It's accessible from the driver's side under dash area.
