Screw driver bits/ What size(s)? 850 1995

Dioes anyone know what size or type screw driver bits I will need to do this job? (i.e. torx, metric driver) There are several different screws to diassemble on this job and I wanted to be sure I had the right tools ahead of time.

I just did this and I believe you'll need a torx 25, 10 and maybe 15 along with a very small phillips screwdriver to get the odometer motor out. If you don't have a phillips positive (+) screwdriver a regular negative (-) one will work. It really helps to get the individual torx wrenches with a 4 or 5 inch shaft. You'll need it when you take the steering column covers off to replace your ignition switch. If you decide to take the whole dash cover off though you'll also need a short #25 socket to get the screw out near the passenger side speaker.

Mr. Fixit, you confuse me when you speak of taking off steering column covers and replacing the ignition switch. Nowhere have I heard or seen so far that needs to be done to do this job. Have you seen the link below?

Sorry to confuse the issue. Just trying to help you get prepared for one of the other common 850 failures. You're right, the steering columne covers don't need to be removed to get the gauge cluster out but you'll eventually will need to do it when the ignition switch goes bad as it certainly will. The multitorx tools are handy but a few (25,15,10) with handles and a four inch shaft will really help. They shouldn't be much more than $5 each.

He was just describing other uses for Torx drivers. You don't need to take off the clam shell at the steering column.
I have a Sears multi Torx driver set. All in one, about 8 different sizes, that fold up into a single tool. This will be too short for the steering column, but you aren't doing that anyway!
