Reliability 2002+ V70 ? V70-XC70

I'm looking into buying a 2004 or newer V70 to replace my beloved wrecked 850 T5. I was just wondering whether I can expect all the same problems with the 2004 V70 as I had with my 850. We liked the comfort and performance of the 850T5 so we actually have three in the family.
We were toying with the idea of owning an Acura MDX--it certainly has a lot more to offer (navigation system, reliability), but the seats are really uncomfortable. I would probably purchase the Acura in a heartbeat if it had Volvo seats.

Problem areas with our 850: ABS module, oxygen sensors, evaporators, smog/evap valve, turbo/o-ring oil leaks, knock sensors,
AC!!!

    The newer V70s seem to be built very well, but very few of them have over 100K miles on them yet. The oils are all synthetic, so changing them is going to cost more. The oil filter was also changed, and hides under the splash pan.

    The newer versions still require maint, but it is getting harder to do under your shade tree. There are more electrical gizzmos that don't like engine compartment heat, and every replacement part needs a computer download! Expect to spend less time on your garage floor and more in the dealership.

    I have the same thoughts about the MDX.
