Problem Starting - electrical? 850 1994

I'm having problems with my 94 850 5 spd wagon starting. It will turn and almost start.
Things done:
Checked codes: 1-1-1 = no codes.
Checked and cleaned plugs.
Replaced fuel pump relay, checked fuse - pump running fine.
Checked for leaky vacuum lines.

Timing belt was replaced @ 140k (40k ago), will check ignition rotor but other than that I'm out of answers. Any suggestions?

Thanks ahead!

Problem Starting - electrical? 850 1994

I will be watching this thread closely. I tried to start my '95 auto wagon 1 1/2 hours ago and the same...almost caught but then just turned over. It acted like the dreaded timing belt but wasn't. Where is the FP relay? I'm new to 850s having had many 240s. Can't say I'm impressed after an axle, radiator, heater core, rotors & pads all around...and did I mention a good used engine after the timing belt went? Not a fun job. 20 valves and 5 pistons connected by a rubber band.

Check fuel pressure regulator. Just turn the ignition on and off to prime the fuel pump. Then at the end of the fuel rail, push in on the schrader valve. Watch out for spraying gasoline :(

Bad connections on ECT sensor or bad sensor?

MAF sensor - try disconnecting it and see if engine will start.

Those things should set codes but maybe went bad just after last use or something so a test cycle wasn't run by the diagnostic system?

Clogged or dirty fuel filter - have you verified there is fuel pressure?
