1994 850 Volvo - PNP

I've looked at posts today (all day) that talk about the PNP on 95/96/97's.

I have a 94 that had the lite issue that appeared several weeks ago. I went out of town for a few weeks and came back to a major issue. I attempted to pull the car out of my garage and found it would not go in reverse. There has not been any clunking or bad sounds from the transmission.

When in Reverse, the car will stand still for 10 seconds and then move forward. Again, no clunking or immediate shifting into gear.

With the information I have found on the web, I have to believe it is the PNP, but am not 100% certain.

While I do not mind spending the cash on fixing, I understand that a full tran will cost 2 - 3K.


Any insights would be appreciated.
