Front disk retaining bolt V70-XC70 2002

I've got a 2002 V70 purchased used, certified, from a dealer. The car had new rotors and pads on it when I bought it. While working on it this week end, I noticed that it does not have a 10mm retaining bolt of the rotor. The rotor is held on, and in place, by the force of the wheel bolts.

Should this have the 10mm retaining bolt?

Thanks in advance.

R. Stuart

    Thanks guys,

I always had these on the other cars (S70's, S80).

I changed the front pads this maorning. Found that there should be a retaiing bolt. Without it the rotor floats when the wheel and caliper are removed. Guess the techs doing certified prep forgot to reinstall them (they forgot to reinstall belly pan).

You may not have had a belly pan. My 2001 came new without it...

    not really needed.

Is mostly used as a guide, to place the tires in the same position when you rotate them. The rims have one space on the inside to accept the pin.
